River Ericht. River Tay. River Isla and Loch Fishing

The nearby River Tay is one of the principal salmon fishing systems in Europe with its
several important tributaries while the beautiful rivers of the Dee and the Don
are not more than an hour and a half away.
Whether you are an expert or would just like to begin fly-fishing this area in Perthshire,
Tayside, Scotland offers you a host of opportunities.

Salmon and sea trout are found in the Rivers Isla, Ericht and Blackwater.
The lower reaches of the Isla also holds large pike and roach.
There is an abundance of good trout fishing in numerous hill lochs in Glen Shee and the Angus Glens.
Lintrathen and Backwater reservoirs, close to Alyth,
offer excellent brown and rainbow trout fishing at reasonable cost.

Brechin, Kirriemuir and Montrose

Angus towns lie close to the Rivers North and South Esk that enter the North Sea near Montrose.
Both rivers have considerable runs of salmon and sea trout as well as native brown trout.
Salmon numbers have now begun to pick up again with compulsory catch and release of Spring salmon in the early season. A great variety of private and club beats are on offer.
In addition to these famous rivers, good wild brown trout can be found in Loch Lee in Glen Esk,
as well as brown and rainbow trout fishing in Rescobie Loch near Forfar.
